1606 - South High Community School Water Heater Replacement

The project scope generally includes:

1. 1.              BASE BID – GAS WATER HEATERS
   1. a.              Disconnect, make safe all plumbing connections, demolition and removal of existing electric water heaters.
   2. b.             Disconnect, make safe all plumbing connections, removal and relocation of existing hot water circulation pumps and controls.
   3. c.              Furnish and install new gas fired water heaters and controls including all required piping, drains, neutralizing kits, valves and flue pipe systems.
   4. d.             Furnish and install new hot water circulation pump and controls.
   5. e.              Provide insulation for all new water piping systems including fittings and valves.
   6. f.              Provide new natural gas piping systems including fittings and valves.
   7. g.              All water and gas piping systems shall be connected to their respective existing systems.
2. 2.             ALTERNATE #1 – ELECTRIC WATER HEATERS
   1. a.              Disconnect, make safe all plumbing connections, demolition and removal of existing electric water heaters.
   2. b.             Disconnect, make safe all plumbing connections, removal and relocation of existing hot water circulation pumps and controls.
   3. c.              Furnish and install new electric water heaters and controls including all required piping, drains and valves.
   4. d.             Furnish and install new hot water circulation pump and controls.
   5. e.              Provide insulation for all new water piping systems including fittings and valves.
   6. f.              All water and gas piping systems shall be connected to their respective existing systems.
   7. g.              The work associated with the installation of the gas fired water heaters shall be considered as the base bid scope of work. The work associated with the installation of electric water heaters in lieu of the gas fired water heaters shall be considered a bid alternate scope of work. The alternate price shall be the addition to or deduction from the base bid price.

And any other related work necessary to complete all of the Work of the respective Sections and indicated on the drawings.

PRE-BID CONFERENCE - A second pre-bid conference will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the project site, 170 Apricot Street, Worcester, beginning at 3:00 p.m. with a brief overview and tour of the construction areas.  It is recommended that all Bidders attend this meeting.
